My Magazine's House Style


 Welcome back to my blog!

So, now that we've gone over what a house style is, it's time to create one that my future magazine will use. As I've looked over the front covers, most of the big gaming magazines have similar yet unique house styles. Most of them have the title of the magazine towards the top, followed by a popular game's cover art as the background and cover titles riddled throughout. You can notice this by just looking at a few big Gaming magazine's titles for a few seconds. Below I've provided some examples.
                   

Both GAME and PC GAMER are very large gaming magazine publishers, and here we can see that they have very similar house styles yet at the same time they retain some semblance of individuality. PC Gamer has more text bubbles as seen to the left and bottom right, whereas GAME relies more on cover titles spread throughout the front cover. I've used both of these magazines as inspiration for my house style, and have reason to believe that my magazine will likely look like a blend of the two.
