Double-Page Spread

Welcome back to my blog!

Hi, welcome back! Today we're going to begin the process of planning out my magazine. As I've said previously, it will feature a double page spread, four pages, and a table of contents, but today we're going to focus on the double page spread portion of the magazine.

What is a double page spread?

A double page spread takes up two pages of a magazine instead of the normal 1. It usually features the star of the magazine as well as the focal article(s) of the magazine.

Usually, double page spreads are meant to be a big story meant to catch the reader's attention. Because of this you're going to want to include your juciest, hard-hitting information here.

Many double page spreads also include quotations from the star of the magazine, as seen in the banner of my post and the double page spread examples I'm going to post below. This also includes any interview questions and a summary of the article to entice the reader.

Here we see two examples of a double page spread, and both have somewhat similar layouts, a picture of the person on the left followed with quotations from them as well as the general article on the right. This is what you'll commonly find on a double page spread on most magazines.

Goodbye, and see you soon with another update!
