Magazine House Style

 


Welcome back to my blog!

If you've ever looked at several different publications of the same magazine, you'll begin to notice patterns with how the magazine is structured. This is known as magazine house style. It helps ensure that the magazine stays creatively seperate from its competition with a unique style that only it uses. The magazine featured in the banner of this blog, PC Gamer, has its own unique style that is seen across all of its magazines. PC Gamer is the masthead at the top, followed by a feature game title and artwork from the game as the background for the cover page, with cover lines strewn throughout. Look at several different magazines and you'll soon pick up on these patterns, as they are used by every magazine and are used to appeal to the target audience of said magazine.
