Preliminary Task #1

Welcome back to my blog!

So, now that I've planned out within my head the skeleton of what will soon be my completed magazine, we're going to do a bit of a dry run in the form of the preliminary task. This task will hone my skills in photo editing and magazine creation, making sure that I'm ready to begin actually creating my final magazine when the time comes.

I've decided to dedicate my preliminary task to a fitness/health magazine. I frequent the gym often, going 5 days a week for about 2 or 2 and a half hours a day, with breaks on Wednesdays and Sundays. This should give me more than enough time to gather all the necessary photos and media I need to get started creating this cover and contents page. Now, let me break down my plan for completing the preliminary task...

  1. Take a large sample size of photos at the gym
  2. Sort through all photos, should be around 30-40 and select the few that stand out
  3. Out of these 'finalist' pictures, choose 3 that will make it to the magazine
  4. These 3 will be edited by me, with 1 going on the cover and two in the table of contents, with my current plan being to make a diagonal split down the page with the two images on either side
  5. Follow a template guide for the content page, making sure that all text is clear and visible
  6. Create a reflection after I'm done
  7. Profit (Figuratively)

Goodbye, and see you soon with another update!
