Survey Analysis
Welcome back to my blog!
My previous post showed you the results of my first survey, today, as the title says, we are going to analyze them so I can give you my thoughts and opinions about what I received.
First off, it's no surprise to me that the overwhelming majority of people who submitted the survey are males, as males are the main target audience of most popular games in my opinion. Over 90% of the people who completed the survey were male, with one female.
I'm also not surprised that everyone who submitted the survey has played video games, as they are almost everywhere today, on phones, computers, consoles, etc.
It also doesn't surprise me that everyone knew of video game magazines as they too are everywhere in almost every major retailer.
I have a hard time believing that someone didn't think that video game magazines aren't a good idea considering how you can find them literally everywhere, but that one person is entitled to their opinion and I will respect it fully.
This question was the most important to me, which part is most important in a game magazine, to which 50% of the responses answered "Game Reviews". I'll keep this in mind when creating my magazine, as now I understand that my audience is mainly looking for reviews as opposed to anything else.
Most of the responses were also fairly familiar with video games, with the lowest score being a 4 and the most populous score being 8. This was on a scale of 1-10 and reflects that most people know a good deal about video games already.
By far the most diverse category, it seems like most of the responses spend 9-10 hours on video games weekly with that category having 33% of the vote. 25% of responses spend 10+ hours on games and only 16% spend 0-2 hours. With the amount of time that people are spending on games, I believe that video game magazines should be thriving with more dedicated fans who want to know everything about their favorite hobby.
I'm surprised that 100% of the responses are interested in my game magazine, though it might just be people being nice. Thanks anyways!
Now, with this information I can finally begin to practice the creation of a magazine to lead me on towards my final product, you can expect my next blog posts to be about the preliminary stages of beginning work on my magazine, and perhaps even a rough draft of the cover coming soon!
Goodbye, and see you soon with another update!
