Using Camera Shots

Welcome back to my blog!

Last time I wrote about different types of camera angles and what each angle is meant to convey as well as some examples of said angles. Today we're instead going to cover some camera shots, and I will be providing some examples that were taken by me! So, with that out of the way let's get started!

A close shot is meant to put emphasis on an object, usually used on a person or character's face, it is meant to emphasis emotions and reactions. In this case, the entire scene is filled with the surface of the controller, which meant to emphasize it.

Shot taken that shows two characters with distances that can vary. Used to show relation between the characters most of the time. In this case the two boys are seen side by side in front of a mirror, likely signaling that these are two friends taking a picture.
The point of view shot or simply POV shot is meant to capture the point of view of a character and make you feel as though you are looking through that character's eyes.

Meant to emphasize the subject and their surroundings, the mid-shot is usually taken from a medium distance, as the name implies, and keeps the subject and the general environment around them within the shot. In this case, we are able to see most of the boy's body alongside the background, which appears to be a natural setting.

As we can see, there are many different kinds of shots that go into making your favorite movies and shows, and each of these shots is meant to convey different feelings or emotions to make these films really come to life.

Goodbye, and see you soon with another update!

All other images were taken with my phone camera.
